Your energy doesn’t exist in a vacuum
Sep 28, 2026
I feel there’s this very damaging premise that sits underneath a lot of what gets taught, and talked about, and marketed in the healing and spiritual space — which is that we have to be constantly healing ourselves, and that at some point there’s this sort of “perfectly healed” version of us that suddenly arrives, and then life is amazing.
And I’ve been reflecting on how that works in real life. Because the way this premise situates things is almost entirely internal, and it doesn’t really allow for the external inequities that are present in our world, and in everyone’s lives. And it weirdly situates the solution outside of you while telling you the problem is inside of you. And that solution is always just out there, just in the next thing, the next step, the next course, the next teaching. Whereas really, the reality is so much more complicated and nuanced.
Something similar shows up in that familiar “manifestation” conversation, where you (and your high or low vibe, your thoughts, your energy) are manifesting your good luck, your bad luck, the good things that happen for you, the bad things that happen to you. These are all seemingly products of your energy — and this energy apparently exists in a vacuum, with no systems of colonisation, poverty, racism, etc. Just wafting about, “manifesting” away.
Whereas, let’s be honest, if you have enough bandwidth and capacity to be even thinking about manifesting rather than just plain surviving, rather than just meeting your basic needs for survival, then you’re already significantly better off than a huge proportion of the world.
So if we’ve been given the resources and opportunities to have the time, the space, the chance to be with our own inner healing — then how are we letting what’s already healed be present in our physical lives? How are we living in more evolved and engaged and thoughtful ways? How are we engaging with our communities?
It’s one reason (of many, more on that some other time) that I get frustrated with the push towards Dragons as escapism. In the same way that You’re a starseed, this happened to you in a past life, you’re Atlantean, you’re Lemurian can, with certain beliefs or circumstances, become an escape from your physical life.
And at certain periods of time, especially at the beginning of a spiritual or energy journey, I think that can be part of the evolution. There’s that big pendulum swing where everything feels exciting and validating and you feel seen, and there are parts of yourself that you’re coming to understand differently. That is important and has great value at that time.
But if it stays there — if it remains this separate thing, this lovely hour with a transmission or a meditation, this community where you get to talk about things you don’t get to talk about in your day-to-day life — and then you go back to your day-to-day life and it’s like it doesn’t exist? That’s not embodiment, it’s not a spiritual path, it’s a holiday. It’s an escape from the reality of our world, and it’s an indulgence that you are privileged enough to be able to access.
However, there is absolutely no reason that your starseed self, your Atlantean insight, or your Lemurian qualities can’t all play huge, significant, and inspiring roles in your physical existence. There’s no reason that they must be kept separate, kept tucked away. These aspects can just become a simple part of your existence, like your eye colour or your preference for chocolate or crisps. They certainly don’t need to be talked about with your boss or your colleagues in quite the same way as you might chat with a friend in a spiritual group, just like you might not chat about accounting software with that spiritual friend (which is not to say that accountants can’t be spiritual, I know quite a few who are). And maybe a deep and intricate knowledge of accounting software is a part of you too (and maybe it’s helped by the Atlantean tech aspects!).
And part of the reason for the escapism is that parts of the multidimensional self find the human existence extremely frustrating. Like, for me, I am constantly surprised at the slowness of the human existence, and particularly travel. I’m like, Teleport me now. For the love of Goddess, I know how to do this. Why won’t this body do this?!
And that’s okay. I can mostly laugh with it now. I can remind myself that this is all part of this human existence, and then also be grateful that I’m not currently incarnated in a time without trains or cars. Imagine how slow I’d feel travel was then!
So — which part of your multidimensional self would really just take the reins and love it and just enjoy being expressed in your physical life? Which aspect of you would love to get out and about a bit more? And then why is that part not getting expression? What are the reasons? What are the excuses? What is the why — and what is the why not?
Not coming from a place of judgement or blaming, just from the perspective of what’s possible, to be curious about what’s truly possible when you start to let all of you be present.
Because what would change if you stopped treating your healing as preparation and started treating it as resource? What becomes possible for this world when you allow an audacious version of you, not a perfectly healed version, but an audacious version to have expression? What contributions are possible to your community? What would our systems look like if there were millions of loving audacious selves out there creating change through nourishment rather than extraction, through collaboration not competition?
You might already have some visioning and dreams around this, around the “what’s possible,” but it might feel hard to fully see it or feel into it yet when you sit with this question. Not because there’s anything wrong with your imagination, but because your audacious self hasn’t had a chance to fully earth in in this lifetime. And so you’re trying to see the answer from a place that isn’t where the audacious self sees from.
Which means even the potentials you’re already sensing — the ones that feel big, that maybe scare you a bit — are still being filtered through something that is not your audacious self. Something that might be saying it’s not possible. Or something more subtle, which is just refusing certain things to be fully present, fully visible, fully possible.
And I find all of that to be a really beautiful thing, actually. Because it means the picture you have right now, even if it already feels expansive, is not the full picture of your potential. Your audacious self sees further than you’re currently letting yourself look, and that means if you’re already feeling or seeing something magical, expansive and inspiring, there’s still so much more available. So much more there, that isn’t fully in your vision. Not yet.
And that vision does not exist in a vacuum. It exists in a way that holds your unique piece within the wider picture of the whole, within a wider picture of your physical life, your community, your service. Your energy is part of a wholeness, and you can make a difference. Within, and without.
